Geoff Corkhill

(a.k.a. Lars Vetterhousen from the Swiss Alps)
Acoustic guitar, vocals, songs

Geoff was working at a shipyard when he first heard Doc Watson’s great flatpicking guitar work. He got rid of his Gibson Les Paul in favor of an old Martin D-28, bought all Doc’s records and relearned the guitar. Listening to Doc Watson naturally exposed Geoff to a new world of music; The Delmore Brothers, The Louvin Brothers, Jimmie Rodgers, the list goes on. The Village Jammers would try anything...”Hey I think that song would work” Geoff would say. So we’d rock up an old folk song and we’d bluegrass a rock standard. We found ourselves on stage in pajamas and cowboy hats playing Pistol Packing Mama because of Geoff’s musical directives. “Lets do it our way,” Geoff would say.
